Therapeutic Yoga with Kathy Ornish

Are you interested in using the tools of yoga to address such issues as structural pain, problems from chronic illness and/or emotional disturbances? Private instruction is a wonderful way to bring yoga into your life through one-on-one instruction. Therapeutic Yoga assumes that each person is unique and that we need to understand the individual’s current condition, needs, and personal potential, and then appropriately apply the yoga techniques to aid them. Some issues for which Yoga therapy can be helpful: low back, shoulder, or hip pain, sciatica, high blood pressure, constipation, IBS, asthma, arthritis, anxiety, and depression, just to name a few.

Using one or all of the tools of yoga (such as physical postures, breath awareness exercises, relaxation, meditation, chanting, self-study) and lifestyle (such as diet, exercise, sleep or stress management) my goal is to enhance your health and well-being by reducing symptoms, facilitating healing, restoring balance, increasing self-understanding, and encouraging prevention. No special equipment is required. Sessions are tailored to meet your special needs, and a personal practice is developed to encourage working on your own. Sessions are usually for 1- 1.5 hours at $60/hour. I hope to inspire and empower you to reach your full potential, both physically, mentally, and emotionally leading to a healthy, joyful, and productive life.
