Dear valued students, clients and Center for Yoga Community
As members of a larger global community we're committed to doing our part to help keep our community healthy. Our strength comes from how we care for each other and as a small business, though small we are mighty. We appreciate, as always, your continued support, together we have gotten through 2020 and we will forge ahead to shape our future and what that will look like in 2021.
As we embark on returning to in-person class settings it is important for you to know that what we have in place to keep you comfortable and worry free while at the Center is remarkable and of the highest standard of safety without compromising our commitment to the environment and our chemical free standards. At the Center we are utilizing a system that changes the compound in water to a stable aqueous ozone fluid that when sprayed/fogged into the air and on contact surfaces kills 99.0% of all pathogens including but not limited to Covid. You can find out more about this here:__________ (will add this in when I find the proper link). We clean the studios and props each time they are used with this along with using this in the bathrooms and other shared spaces

Additionally we are utilizing UV-technology that does a similar thing. It is used widely in other venues and our UV light is 18 watts, which is one of the higher ones available for non-surgical use. We also are running a air purifier that does both ozonate the air as well as offer UV filtering, which we run after classes. There are many other details to speak of, but, mostly we want to ensure you that we are doing our very most to create a safe environment to be in. If you have questions you can email Ruth at: center4yoga10@gmail.com.
Please make contact with your teacher to find out when they may again be holding in person classes. Many teachers have begun in-person classes, some remain online. Check out your teachers page to see what is new, and look in on the Massage folks to be updated of their situations as well.
Please know how much your support and friendship and commitment means to me and to Center for Yoga, but now more than ever I am deeply conscious of our interconnectedness. All of us at CFY are committed to being in service to you and is an absolute joy and privilege and we will be here for you in any way that we can that is safe and effective in our safety of all. Our hardships will be shared and when we meet again, our hearts will be glad. The Center for Yoga has weathered hardships before, and we will embrace this one as best we can.
We wish for you Peace and Tranquility as we continue to navigate this situation. We are available by email; center4yoga10@gmail.com, if you need anything at all.
In service and love and light, Ruth Fisk and all of us at Center for Yoga, Movement and Massage

Anandalay Yoga Study is a program taught by Ruth Fisk at Center for Yoga to enrich your understanding of Yoga's history and create value and meaning in the tools Yoga can provide in your everyday life.

We are overjoyed to be the annual Midwest stop for Jehangir Palkhivala of Mumbai, India, a spiritual teacher who studied with BKS Iyengar from the age of 7.  Jehangir shares his brilliance and remarkable depth of understanding of bringing Yoga into your life.

Meet Ruth...

A visionary leader, founder and owner of the Center for Yoga, Ruth Fisk began studying Iyengar Yoga in 1980 and has been teaching for 36 years. She remains spirited and passionate in her delivery of this ancient art and science and is dedicated to the teaching of Yoga in a traditional and kind way with abundant humor and self-reflection. Ruth is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher authorized to teach BKS Iyengar's method. Her spiritual practice is guided by Jehangir Palkhivala and she makes yearly visits to India to study which enhance her teaching and personal practice. Twenty-two years ago, Ruth Fisk founded the Center for Yoga Movement and Massage, the first Yoga center in the greater Lansing area. Her teaching and the continual expansion the Center for Yoga over the years has been instrumental to growing the community of students and teachers and has facilitated numerous teachers to open Yoga studios that are operating today in greater Lansing and Mid-Michigan. Generous by nature, Ruth provides an environment at the Center that is safe and caring with the intention to help students find the right place and right teacher to grow and transform through Yoga. Ruth also mentors teachers in their quest to become knowledgeable in the teaching of Yoga and sharing of Yoga with their students.

Everyone comes to Yoga for their own reasons; Ruth's was a dance injury. The discovery of Iyengar Yoga turned into a life long journey of self-discovery and a career filled with giving and heart centered work. Ruth has dedicated her life to studying and teaching Iyengar Yoga. In her 36 years of practicing and teaching and 10 years of mentoring students to become teachers, she emphasizes the faithful, methodical and integrative communication of her direct study with the Iyengar family and her spiritual studies with Jehangir Palkhivala. Ruth travels to India each year for study, attends Iyengar conventions, hosts retreats and offers a Yoga study program for emerging teachers. Teaching Yoga for Ruth brings such happiness to be able to give back one fraction of the priceless gift her teachers have shared. Along with being an experienced teacher Certified in the tradition of BKS Iyengar, she is also an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and the founder of the Anandalay for Yoga Study Program. This one-year program is offered to assist students in deepening their understanding of Yoga overall.
